Dr. Sonja Dieterich is starting a first-year seminar called Scientific Integrity in Winter Quarter 2013. The focus of the course will be on ethical behavior of scientists conducting their research, specifically, what ethical behavior is in specific situations and each person's personal experience. Students will learn about guiding principles the scientific community draws on, the history which generated these principles, current challenges as we explore beyond boundaries of knowledge as well as questions of the integrity of human relations within a team of scientists.
