Radiation oncology resident awarded fellowship
March 2, 2011
Dr. Sinisa Stanic
Sinisa Stanic, a fourth-year resident in the Department of Radiation Oncology, has been awarded one of only two Radiation Oncology Resident Training Fellowships offered by the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
RTOG, in operation since 1968, is a national clinical cooperative group that conducts clinical trials to study ways to increase the survival and improve the quality of life of patients diagnosed with cancer. During its 35-year history, RTOG has conducted many studies that have improved the survival and quality of life of cancer patients, and has defined new national standards of care for cancer patients.
The five-day fellowship is scheduled for March 14-18 at RTOG headquarters in Philadelphia, and will focus on introducing residents such as Stanic to radiation oncology research.
