Brass mesh study to be published in Practical Radiation Oncology

Congratulations to a team of UC Davis researchers from the Departments of Radiation Oncology and Biostatistics, whose study of  "Skin dose effects of postmastectomy chest wall radiation therapy using brass mesh as an alternative to tissue equivalent bolus" has been accepted for publication in an upcoming issue of the journal Practical Radiation Oncology. The study, led by Erin Healy from the laboratory of Dr. Jyoti Mayadev, found that brass mesh is an effective alternative to tissue-equivalent bolus for postmastectomy chest wall radiation therapy, with brass mesh achieving moderate erythema in the majority of patients at the end of treatment.
