Berekely Labs New Biochip to Possibly Help with Radiation Exposure
Dr. Coleman and a group of his colleagues from UC Davis School of Medicine, Berkeley Lab, Sanford University, Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute and Methodist Hospital Research Institute's Center for Biostatistics has developed technology that may produce a hand-held device that provides notification if an individual needs medical attention from an adverse radiation event. The technology requires only a drop of blood to measure the radiation dose and can provide results up to one week after exposure. His work was recently published in the journal of Scientific Reports, New Biochip Holds Great Promise for Quickly Triaging People After Radiation Exposure. Congratulations, Dr. Coleman.
