Philosophy of Care

Dr. Mayadev believes in providing each patient with the most comprehensive cancer care in a supportive and compassionate environment. Her multidisciplinary approach to treatment focuses on the patient in a team oriented setting.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Mayadev has a clinical focus on the treatment of breast and gynecologic malignancies.  She is a national principal investigator through the NRG oncology group for cervical cancer, and is the co-chair of the Phase I committee for gynecologic radiation therapy.  She specializes in various radiotherapy techniques including intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), and high dose rate brachytherapy.

Dr. Mayadev is specifically interested in using technical advances to improve the clinical delivery and side effect profile of radiation therapy, and in particular brachytherapy.  She has extensive clinical experience in brachytherapy procedures, and explores the use of intraoperative image guidance from a clinical and research standpoint.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Maydev's research interests focus on the investigation of novel therapeutics and immunotherapy to improve the outcomes of cervical cancer.  In addition, she explores various methods of delivery of radiation treatments.

Dr. Mayadev’s research passion is in studying the technical delivery of high dose rate brachytherapy to an effort to spare normal tissue toxicity, particularly for gynecological cancers.
