Clinical Interests

Dr. Wilsey is heavily involved in clinical pain medicine research at UC Davis Medical Center and at the Sacramento VA Medical Center, where he also performs acupuncture services on a limited basis. Dr. Wilsey also studies prescription opioid abuse, and collaborates on NIH and CDC grants involving computerization of historical pain-management information.

Dr. Wilsey has a strong interest in research ethics and has chaired institutional review boards at UC Davis and the Northern California VA Health Care System. He believes translational research is particularly important for improving patient care.
