Clinical Interests

Shiro Urayama specializes in endoscopic ultrasound and inflammatory bowel disease. He is experienced in performing special endoscopic procedures, including ERCP and EU. He has published studies on the mechanisms and treatment of diarrhea in inflammatory bowel disease and per-procedure equipment costs in outpatient endoscopy centers. His research also includes the application of endoscopic ultrasound, tumor markers for early diagnosis of pancreatic and bile duct cancer, and the role of mucosal protection in inflammatory bowel disease.
