Philosophy of Care
Family practice allows me to care for patients of all ages, from pregnant women with children to grandparents. I enjoy providing most of the health care for my patients. I believe in the biopsychosocial model of well-being and take seriously the privilege of partnering with my patients to optimize their health. My patients always have appreciated the time I take to listen to their concerns during each visit.
I try to ensure that patients understand what their disease is, what the treatment options are, and how their participation in the treatment plan can speed recovery. I've found that several aspects of personality and behavior are important to good health: self-esteem, self- awareness, routine preventive care and knowledge of health status. One of the great benefits of belonging to the UC Davis Health System is that I can offer my patients access to the outstanding specialists at UC Davis Medical Center for rare or complicated medical problems.
