Philosophy of Care

My family doctor was a role model in my teens. I saw him as caring individuals making a difference for the better in people’s lives. Once in medical training, I realized the fulfillment of treating the whole patient, so I chose family medicine. I don’t see my work as a job, but a calling. People have physical, mental, emotional and spiritual elements. Neglecting any aspect will result in disease and discomfort. Good health depends on things we can’t control and also on things we can. Developing a healthier lifestyle should be everyone’s goal. UC Davis Medical Group is committed to seeing the doctor-patient relationship remain the primary focus. Our physicians are concerned more with what is good for the patient, which ultimately will be good for the organization.

Clinical Interests

Kevin Maxwell finds it fulfilling to care for the “whole” person . He believes that people have physical, mental, emotional and spiritual elements, and that neglecting any one component will result in disease and discomfort.
