Philosophy of Care
I became an internist because I was interested in providing comprehensive medical care. Internal medicine also gives me the opportunity to understand my patients’ social and emotional concerns. I believe in empowering and educating patients to make decisions about their care, with me as their partner and adviser. This involvement by patients, coupled with good health practices, such as proper exercise, diet, stress reduction and avoiding alcohol and smoking, is truly important for optimum good health. I speak Spanish and German fluently and enjoy having patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. I like learning about my patients’ personal lives. I consider the access to comprehensive treatment—both specialist and generalist care—a real plus for patients at UC Davis Medical Group.
Gregory S. Redmond provides comprehensive primary care for patients he sees on an ongoing basis. He emphasizes patient education, which enables his patients to make decisions about their own health care. As a competitive runner, he would like to see more young athletes in his practice.
