(SACRAMENTO, Calif.)

UC Davis Children’s Hospital became even more super when The Incredible Hulk’s Lou Ferrigno and West Coast Avengers superheroes Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Iron-Man, Batgirl and Black Widow visited pediatric patients this morning.

They greeted patients at their bedside and also spent time in the playroom, being photographed and playing games with the kids.

“I was excited to be here with the beautiful children because they need our support,” said Ferrigno, who made sure that his Sacramento schedule could accommodate a visit to UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

Patient Jack Ratliff Jr. had the opportunity to play air hockey with Ferrigno – and won.

“It was cool. I’ve seen the movies that he has been in,” said Ratliff Jr.

His dad, Jack Ratliff Sr., remembers watching “The Incredible Hulk” when the series was on TV. He was happy to meet Ferrigno.

“This is absolutely awesome. I loved him as a child,” said Ratliff Sr.

Nurses, physicians and staff also stopped by the playroom to say hello to the superheroes and meet Ferrigno.

Amanda Lau, who was dressed as Black Widow, said that it was her first time visiting the hospital with West Coast Avengers and that she enjoys entertaining children and showing them that women can be powerful superheroes.

“I have always been into costuming and I’m happy to give my time to something that gives back to the community,” said Lau.

Ferrigno and the West Coast Avengers superheroes will be attending Wizard World Comic Con this weekend at the Sacramento Convention Center.
