Media Advisory: UC Davis Nursing School offers family health, financial planning event
The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis hosts Healthy Life Planning, a community event for people from all backgrounds and family styles can learn more about life planning. The free luncheon event includes information on advance health care directives, retirement and estate planning as well as a keynote speaker, expert panel discussion and a celebration of the 1-year anniversary of the United States Supreme Court ruling of the Defense of Marriage Act as unconstitutional.

Keynote speaker: Deb L. Kinney
Deb L. Kinney is a partner at Johnston, Kinney & Zulaica, LLP, a law firm providing comprehensive estate planning, trust administration, probate services and family law. Deb has an extensive background in real estate and was recently involved with the passage of a property tax bill protecting unrelated partners. Deb sits on the board of The Tides Advocacy Fund and is on the Equality California Candidate PAC. Deb is extensively involved and remains committed to obtaining equality for all LGBT people; and she has worked tirelessly on behalf of the LGBT community regarding income, property and estate tax issues.
The lunchtime event will include a welcome from health system leaders, the keynote presentation and a panel discussion with opportunities for participants to ask questions and provide comment. The day will conclude with a toast and celebration of the 1-year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling of the Defense of Marriage Act as unconstitutional.
