James Marcin, interim head of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at UC Davis Children's Hospital, has been elected one of three new members of distinction to the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) College of Fellows this month.
New members are selected in recognition of their achievements in telemedicine, services to the general telemedicine community and service to ATA.
"I am honored to join the ATA College of Fellows and excited to be a part of this organization as we continue to make new advances in telemedicine," said Marcin.
Founded under Marcin’s leadership, the Pediatric Telemedicine Program is part of the UC Davis Telehealth Program, a component of the Center for Health and Technology. The program offers access to specialized medical care and education from UC Davis physicians delivered through live interactive video conferencing with community hospitals and clinics throughout California.
The award was announced at the 2014 ATA Annual Awards in Baltimore, MD.
