UC Davis pathologist recognized for years of public health service


Yvonne Wan, vice chair for research in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, received certificates of appreciation from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' National Institute of Health (NIH) for her many years of service in the area of public health. She was honored during a June 6 NIH Study Section session in Bethesda, Md.

Wan received the certificate for her participation in several NIH study sections, including the Cancer Etiology and Chemical Pathology Study Sections from 2001-2005, and the Xenobiotic and Nutrient Disposition and Action Study Section from 2009-2013.

“Our department is very proud of Dr. Wan for her continued commitment to serve on these prestigious committees and represent the UC Davis School of Medicine at the national level," said Lydia Howell, professor and chair of pathology and laboratory medicine.
