Media Advisory: 10,000 Valentines to be delivered to patients at UC Davis Children's Hospital
What:
Patients at UC Davis Children’s Hospital receive more than 10,000 handmade Valentines collected by Star 106.5 as a part of “Monica Lowe’s Valentine’s Day Cards for Kids!” The Valentines were created throughout the Sacramento region, by students at Franklin High School, Girl Scouts troops, churches and even an off-road vehicle club.
When:
10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14 – St. Valentine’s Day
Where:
UC Davis Medical Center – Members of the media should go to the hospital main lobby to be escorted to pediatrics.
Who:
Children will receive Valentines in the children’s hospital. The cards also will be distributed to children in the pediatric Emergency Department; Children’s Surgery Center and infusion center in the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Background:
Star 106.5’s Midday Announcer Monica Lowe is the mother of an adult who suffered from cancer as a child and has recovered. She was moved to hold the Valentine’s Day card drive to help children who are hospitalized during the holiday.
