The latest in cardiology research highlighted at Heart Research Day


Heart Research Day is a new initiative sponsored by the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine to promote advanced research on cardiovascular disease.

This inaugural event is Wednesday, April 18, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Education Building lecture hall 1222. The event is free, however advance registration is requested at

The day includes presentations by cardiovascular medicine faculty on preventive cardiology, cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure, structural heart disease, and coronary artery and vascular disease.

Guest speaker Donald Bers, chair of the Department of Pharmacology, will discuss his research on cardio pharmacology. Keynote speakers Ezra Amsterdam and Nipavan Chiamvimonvat, professors of cardiovascular medicine, will discuss the latest in clinical and basic science research. A poster session will highlight the research of residents and fellows.
