Cynthia Haq, professor of family medicine and population health sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, is a candidate for the position of chair of the UC Davis Health Department of Family and Community Medicine. She will present her vision for the department on May 16 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Education Building, Room 1204, at 4610 X St. in Sacramento.
Haq, who also serves as Director of Training in Urban Medicine and Public Health (TRIUMPH), is the first of three candidates invited to present their vision for the family and community medicine department. Presentations by the remaining two candidates are scheduled for Tues., May 23 and Fri., May 26. Details about those candidates will be posted five days before their talks.
During the 25-minute presentation, Haq will describe:
- how her experience and leadership skills will be leveraged to integrate the department’s teaching, research and clinical care missions
- how she envisions the department’s role in reaching out to the community in the Greater Sacramento Area and Northern California region.
- the most important characteristics and role of the modern family and community medicine department within the clinical work of UC Davis Health
Her talk will be followed by a Q and A session. The event is open to the public. Lunch will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
