Hospitals included on the list offer patients comprehensive cancer care involving teams of specialists, participation in clinical trials and personalized treatment programs.

“We are pleased to be named once again by Becker’s Hospital Review to be among the nation’s top health systems for great cancer care,” said Primo Lara, interim director of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. “We are committed to breaking barriers to beat cancer through discovery of new therapies and innovative technologies, reducing cancer health disparities and making sure every patient in our region has access to the most leading-edge care available.”

Becker’s Hospital Review selected hospitals for inclusion based on recognitions and accreditations, including U.S. News & World Report rankings, National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation and others.

UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of 45 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers. Comprehensive cancer centers are funded by the NCI to do cancer research and provide services to cancer patients. They engage in basic laboratory and clinical research and study the patterns, causes and control of cancer in groups of people. Comprehensive centers also take part in multicenter clinical trials and provide cancer information to health care professionals and the public.

UC Davis Medical Center also has consistently ranked among the top 50 in the national by U.S. News & World Report for cancer.
