2012 Northern California Premium Sake Fest slated for October
Sake aficionados may taste the best offerings from Japan's leading sake makers, as well as Japanese beer, shochu (a distilled equivalent of sake), sushi and other specially prepared foods from local Japanese restaurants, at the 2012 Northern California Premium Sake Fest, Wednesday Oct. 10 at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel.
Proceeds from the Sake Fest will benefit UC Davis Children's Hospital's Pediatric Heart Center, the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation, and other local non-profit organizations. Event activities also will include a "fast and furious" nigiri sushi making contest, blind sake tasting contest, taiko drumming, a silent auction, and calligrapher Aoi Yamaguchi creating works of art using ink and a mop.
The Sake Fest will be held Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento, 1230 'J' St. For reservations, please call Judy Inaba, 916-373-1111, ext. 120 or email Judy@nafdc.com.
