An advocate for women's health issues, Pham volunteers each month at the Paul Hom Asian Clinic, screening Vietnamese women for breast and cervical cancers. In addition to practicing patient care, she is involved in epidemiological research and has written a manuscript about the disparate standards of radiation treatment that African-American and Caucasian breast cancer patients receive. She has also been involved in a breast cancer research project that studied post-mastectomy radiation therapy.

Pham plans to pursue a residency in radiation oncology after graduation.
