Gallery reception on Dec. 11 raises funds for UC Davis Children's Hospital

(SACRAMENTO, Calif.)

JayJay Gallery in Sacramento will host a special gallery reception on Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. in support of UC Davis Children's Hospital.

"Numinous" by Joan Moment is included in the exhibition at JayJay Gallery.

Attendees are invited to meet Robin Steinhorn, chair of the UC Davis Department of Pediatrics, and view the exhibition of two of the Sacramento region's premier modernists, sculptor Roger Berry and painter Joan Moment..

Roger Berry's sculpture stems from an ongoing investigation of the relationship of sculpture to the apparent movement of the sun. One of his most recognizable pieces is the glass and steel sculpture, "Emergence," which soars above the courtyard of UC Davis Health System's Education Building.

Joan Moment's work has been shown in museums and galleries in the U.S., Brazil and China. Her most recent public art commission is a 12-x18-foot glass tesserae mosaic installed at Sacramento International Airport. Her current series combines aerial views of geological formations, ocean surfaces and interstellar space.

Fifteen percent of all sales at the reception will go to the Children's Miracle Network at UC Davis Children's Hospital.

JayJay Gallery is located at 5520 Elvas Ave., Sacramento. For more information, contact Jacquelyn Kay-Mills at 916-734-9192 or jacquelyn.kay-mills@ucdmc.ucdavis.edu.
