Candyland-themed party set for hundreds of UC Davis pediatric cancer and hematology patients

Gifts, crafts, carnival and a visit from Santa planned

WHO:  UC Davis pediatric cancer and hematology patients and their families with support from the Active 20/30 Club of Sacramento, Children’s Miracle Network, Keaton Raphael Memorial, UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, Aflac, Blood Source, Sam’s Club, East Sac Rotary Club and Davis Dance Marathon

WHAT: UC Davis pediatric cancer and hematology patients get three hours of fun at the annual holiday party featuring  painting  stations, a Wii gaming area, arts and crafts, musical and magical entertainment, and a visit with Santa

WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012

  • 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: UC Davis MIND Institute, 2825 50th St., Sacramento

WHY: Every year, children who have received care for cancer or for diseases such as sickle cell anemia at UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center come for an afternoon of fun to celebrate the season. Volunteers and donors provide food, crafts, gifts and entertainment for each participant.

MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES: Parents and their children will be available for interviews about their inspiring stories of strength and courage in facing a cancer or related diagnosis.
