UC Health, which includes the medical centers at UC Davis, UC San Diego, UC San Francisco, UC Irvine and UC Los Angeles, has received the 2017 Healthcare Supply Chain Achievement Award from ECRI Institute in Plymouth Meeting, Penn.
The award recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate excellence in overall spend management and in adopting best-practice solutions in supply chain processes.
UC Health, one of 11 institutions nationwide and two in California to be honored with the award, was selected out of nearly 3,000 members nationwide that use ECRI’s supply and capital procurement advisory programs.
Other awardees include Boston Children’s Hospital, Greenville Health System, Inova Health System, Jefferson Health, MaineHealth, Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, UAB Medicine in Birmingham, University of Maryland Medical System and WellStar Health System in Georgia.
Awarded institutions were selected using a quantitative and subjective analysis of purchase order history and supply chain initiatives, and spend management and market analytics efforts for medical devices including capital medical equipment, supplies, physician preference items, service contracts, reagents and others.
