Scott A. Hundahl

Clinical/Research Interests

Dr. Hundahl is Professor of Clinical Surgery at U.C. Davis and is also Chief of Surgery for the VA Northern California health Care system based at the Sacramento VA Medical Center at Mather. Dr. Hundahl is an experienced surgical oncologist with particular interest in gastric (stomach) cancer, head and neck cancer, thyroid and parathyroid neoplasms, and retroperitoneal sarcomas. His research activities focus on gastric cancer, outcomes research, surgical quality control in clinical trials, and cancer treatment. He has conducted national and international research projects, and has served in various leadership positions for the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, including Chair from 1998-2000. Dr. Hundahl has been listed in various editions of the Best Doctors in America since 1995, and has been listed in Marquis's Who's Who in America and other editions since 1998. He has authored over 50 scientific articles and book chapters in his field. He is the recipient of several awards and serves as a reviewer for several medical and surgical publications.
