Anthony F. Jerant welcomes LGBT patients.
Dr. Jerant's research interests include seeking ways of improving the health of people with chronic health conditions and eliminating disparities in the outcomes of such conditions. Given the difficulties chronically ill people face in obtaining consistent, timely access to primary care, a major focus of his work is in developing and evaluating technology-enhanced care delivery - e.g., in the home, via computer - to effectively expand the primary care encounter in space and time. Using such tools to bolster patients' confidence in their ability to master self-management of their chronic conditions is a particularly strong current theme in his research.
Philosophy of Care:
Dr. Jerant enjoys providing care across the full spectrum of family medicine, including care of children, adolescents and adults, prenatal and obstetrical care, and outpatient surgical procedures. His goal is to provide comprehensive, evidence-based medical care to each of his patients. However, he also strives to ensure that his technical expertise is always applied in a manner that is guided by his patients' personal values, preferences and health goals.
