Dr. Shahlaie works to minimize the risks of surgery and facilitate rapid recovery by utilizing minimally invasive surgical techniques, including endoscopy and 'keyhole' access surgery. He provides innovative surgical treatment options for patients with Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and other movement disorders, as well as patients with certain psychiatric and pain conditions. Dr. Shahlaie closely involves the families and caretakers of patients with severe traumatic brain injury during both the acute and chronic stages of recovery.
