Philosophy of Care

I believe in providing empathic care, taking the time to listen carefully and treating the patient as a whole person. Whenever possible, I strive to provide the patient with sufficient information in a way that is easy to understand so that he/she can participate more fully in making a joint decision regarding care.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Yeun is a general nephrologist offering care for adults with kidney diseases, hypertension, and electrolyte and acid-base disorders. She practices primarily in the dialysis clinics caring for patients with kidney failure, and in the hospital caring for hospitalized patients with kidney diseases. Her special clinical interests are kidney failure, dialysis, hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and acid-base disorders.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Yeun has done research in the past relating to dialysis, and greatly enjoys teaching medical students, physicians in training, and patients the complexities of kidney diseases, in particular glomerular diseases and diseases that lead to a low serum sodium level or perturbations in acid-base balance. She has co-authored book chapters in authoritative textbooks in nephrology pertaining to hemodialysis, nephrotic syndrome, and management of patients with kidney diseases peri-operatively.
