Philosophy of Care

After college I spent several years working in medical research at UC San Diego. The research dealt with fetal developmental abnormalities and led to my interest in obstetrics. Obstetrics and gynecology is a very diversified specialty. I was fortunate to spend 16 years in a group practice sharing with my patients the joys of childbirth and taking care of their preventive healthcare needs, and offering them a variety of obstetrical and gynecological surgical procedures. Eleven of those years were with the UC Davis Medical Group in Folsom where I had the opportunity to work with medical students and residents in clinic. I found that teaching them was extremely rewarding. As a result, in 2008 I became the Medical Director for Maternity Services and the first fulltime Laborist at the UC Davis Medial Center. I am very fortunate to spend my days working in Labor and Delivery with patients, medical students, residents, nurses and anesthesiologists, knowing that I have immediate access to the sophisticated specialty services available at the UC Davis Medical Center. I can share my positive attitude and experiences from previous practice to benefit the patients we take care of on a daily basis.
