Edwin alexander Alvarez

Clinical/Research Interests

Dr. Alvarez's primary focus is the surgical and medical treatment of ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer and other malignancies of the female reproductive system. He holds a strong clinical interest in complicated gynecologic procedures and is adept at laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery. He also provides chemotherapy for patients with gynecologic cancers. Dr. Alvarez designs and writes biologically-targeted phase II clinical research trials and has a particular interest in the fallopian tube as the site of cancer initiation in ovarian cancer. He is also focused upon recruiting patients to cancer center clinical trials and in procuring specimens in collaboration with basic-science researchers.
