Michael K. McCloud, M.D.

Clinical/Research Interests

Duke University-trained geriatrician Michael K. McCloud is a clinician-educator whose focus is on optimal wellness after age 65. He has special interest in the post-diagnostic management of memory-impaired older adults. He developed the UC Davis Internal Medicine Faculty Practice, and co-directs the Geriatric Clinic. He is a founding member of the medical-scientific council of the Alzheimer's Association of Northern California and lectures nationally on issues of aging and health. Dr. McCloud is the creator and course director of UC Davis' acclaimed program "Medical Science and Aging: A Mini Medical School to Prepare for Life's Second Half." Since 2001, this tuition-free program has opened the doors of UC Davis School of Medicine to more than 2500 individuals to learn the secrets of healthy aging from top faculty members. Dr. McCloud's mission is to improve health care delivery to older adults, and to excite young physicians and nurses into geriatric careers.
