Charles H. Halsted

Philosophy of Care

I am trained and experienced in internal medicine with subspecialties of gastroenterology, hepatology, and clinical nutrition. I have more than 40 years of experience and unique insights into the diagnosis and treatment of intestinal disorders and their interactions with good nutritional status of my patients. In addition, I believe that patient education is essential to maintenance of good health and prevention of disease by proper diet and exercise and avoidance of smoking and alcohol abuse. Accurate diagnoses, compassionate personal relationships with my patients, and the ability to inspire trust are essential in developing effective treatment plans. The UC Davis Health System gives me the opportunity to provide this kind of care to my patients.
