Peter E. Sokolove

Clinical/Research Interests

Peter E. Sokolove has lectured widely on new medication overdoses, tuberculosis, controversies in pediatric fever, and hazards for emergency health-care workers. Sokolove's research focuses on tuberculosis in the emergency department setting and pediatric trauma management. He helped develop a triage procedure for detection and isolation of patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis, and has documented high risk of exposure among emergency department personnel during a community epidemic of the illness. He also has explored the utility of laboratory testing for identifying unsuspected intra-abdominal injuries in pediatric blunt trauma.
