Dr. Peerson received her doctorate degree from UC Santa Barbara and completed her internship and postdoctoral clinical training in the UC Davis Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Prior to pursuing her doctorate she was involved in academic research with children with learning and developmental disabilities and also taught elementary school. Her clinical training and experience has focused primarily on the assessment and treatment of abused and neglected children, parenting domains and stress, perinatal substance abuse treatment, and supervision.
Dr. Peerson is currently the program director for the Department's postdoctoral clinical psychology fellowship program and is the lead psychologist at the Sacramento County Crisis Unit and Child and Adolescent Psychiatric (CAPS) Clinic.
