Dr. McCarthy completed a two-year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center in New Haven, Connecticut, in 2000. Her clinical interests include assessment and treatment of young children, treatment of patients with developmental disorders, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Dr. McCarthy has served as a school psychiatric consultant and worked with adolescents involved in the juvenile justice system, and with children and families in clinic settings. She is the co-author of The Saint Frances Guide to Psychiatry, a clinical handbook for medical students.
