Dr. McCarron completed a combined internal medicine and psychiatry residency and is board certified in both disciplines.  He serves as both the program director for the combined internal medicine/psychiatry residency program and medical director of the internal medicine/psychiatry clinic.  He is the recipient of the 2005-2006 UC Davis Physician of the Year Award for outstanding clinical service and teaching.  His professional interests include emergency psychiatry, primary care psychiatry, primary care medicine, somatorform disorders and medical education.
