Dr. Hyvonen's clinical practice and training has been focused primarily in a community psychology approach, working with high-risk youth and families in particular. Her clinical and research interests include individual/family risk and resiliency factors, psychological assessment, the interaction of mental health concerns with neurodevelopmental and physical disorders, and providing supervision and training for advanced trainees in the fields of psychology and psychiatry. Dr. Hyvonen is primarily based at the Sacramento County Mental Health Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services (CAPS) clinic, where she provides outpatient child, adolescent, and family therapy and assessment services both from her office and in the field.
