PGY-1 Combined Internal Medicine/Psychiatry Application Information

We are delighted you are interested in the UC Davis Internal Medicine/Psychiatry Residency Program and we look forward to receiving your application. Our selection committee will screen all applications and selected candidates will be offered a personal interview. The interview is an opportunity for you to find out more about our program and for us to get a sense of your unique qualities. The final deadline for application materials is November 6, 2008.

The following items are required:

  • Applications for PGY-1 positions will be accepted through ERAS beginning September 2008.
  • Internal Medicine/Psychiatry supplemental application (Adobe PDF)  (Microsoft Word)
  • Three letters of recommendation, including at least one from an internist and one from a psychiatrist.  Physicians familiar with your work should author all submitted letters. 
  • Medical school transcript
  • USMLE/COMLEX scores
  • A letter from your medical school Dean of Student Affairs is required.
Please refer to the IMG requirements if you are an international medical school graduate.

Interview schedule

Interviews are held on most Mondays during the months of November, December and January.

7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Breakfast and coffee with the residents 
8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. Tour of the Sacramento County Mental Health Treatment Center and Primary Care Center 
9:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Psychiatry rounds - Special Population Unit
9:45 a.m-10:00 a.m. Meet with Dr. Meyers (Chair, Internal Medicine).
10:00 a.m-10:45 a.m. Chat with some of the Internal Medicine and Psychiatry faculty.
11:00 a.m-11:45 a.m. Tour of the Medical Center and attend medicine morning report
12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. Sit, relax and enjoy lunch with the residents.
1:45 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Meet with Dr. Hales (Chair, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences).
2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Tell us a little about yourself...interviews
