Welcome
25th Annual
Physics of Diagnostic Radiology,
Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Biology
Board Review Course
August 6-10, 2008
About the program
This four-and-one-half day intensive review course in the physics of diagnostic radiology is designed to help radiology residents prepare for the physics section of the board examination in radiology. The didactic lecture series will focus on understanding the essential physical principles of diagnostic radiology, CT, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, radiation safety and radiation biology. You will be provided with an extensive course syllabus that follows the lecture topics. In addition, several self-paced examinations will be given throughout the course to help you assess your comprehension of the material presented. Review sessions on selected topics will also be available in the evenings for those wishing additional or more in-depth study. The course will include a mock board exam. The answers to all exams will be provided, along with multiple review sessions with the faculty to answer specific individual questions. Our goal is to review with you the most important concepts of the physics of diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine and radiation biology, which, together with the self-paced examinations and discussion sessions, will help you prepare for the board exam. A hand-held, scientific calculator is required. Please remember to bring one.
