Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Program (STLP)

The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy’s award-winning Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (STLP) is now available online to pharmacy residents of the UC Davis Medical Center. Given the growing demand for practitioners with teaching skills that can be applied to the experiential setting, the STLP is focused on cultivating the skills of clinician-educators with numerous modules focused on preceptor development. The program is also designed to introduce participants to basic concepts in practice in academia, contemporary pharmacy/health professions education, teaching styles, and teaching philosophies. Modules focused on didactic and simulations are also available.

Through engagement in online seminars and documentation of formal teaching experiences, participants can document their participation in a teaching portfolio. Participants will receive handouts, bibliographies, and web site information to encourage future learning and development. Additionally, monthly meetings to discuss modules will take place on site. Each participant who completes all program requirements will be awarded a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the year.
