In 2006, UC Davis received a $24.8 million Clinical and Translational Science Award from the NIH and established the UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC).

In partnership with the CTSC, we offer an interdisciplinary clinical research methods elective in the Spring for first-year residents.  This CTSC research elective provides residents with the skills to design a research project with a faculty mentor and receive feedback on how to improve the project from a variety of experienced faculty.

Residents may apply for the Children’s Miracle Network mentored resident research grant to implement their research proposal and/or present their research.

Residents may elect to take subsequent research electives to complete their research project in their second and third year.
