Biopsies (small samples)

Biopsies are often used to make the initial diagnosis, or to evaluate the effects of treatment.

  • Turnaround time expectation for completion of report:  two working days
  • Examples: core biopsies from breast, prostate, liver or other organs; endoscopic biopsies from GI or respiratory tract; punch biopsies of skin; colposcopic biopsies of uterine cervix; currettings from endometrium or endocervix, excisional biopsies of breast, skin, lymph nodes or other sites
