Surgical Pathology Fellowship Program
Description
The program is designed to serve as a diagnostic expert in the interpretation of all surgical pathology specimens. Expertise will include; frozen section interpretation, intra-operative consultations--gross examination, biopsy diagnosis/interpretation and appropriate work-up of cancer resections. The fellow in Surgical Pathology will develop an analytical approach to diagnoses, which include the appropriate use of ancillary techniques such as electron microscopy, immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology. Training in this program will encompass consultation to health care providers, teaching/staffing medical students, residents, pathologists and clinicians with occasional conferences. Participate in a research project, which leads to publication in a peer reviewed journal.

Requirements
The Program Director will select from resident applicants preferably who have had four or more years of training with two years anatomic pathology and two years clinical pathology experience. E.O.E.

Stipends are those of appropriate postgraduate levels established by UC Davis.
