Bicycling to UC Davis Medical Center
Every day tens of thousands of Californians experience the benefits of commuting by bicycle: regular healthy exercise; reduced stress; savings on fuel, insurance and parking permits -all while helping reduce traffic congestion and air pollution.
Where to Park
Most facilities have standard bike racks. Patients and visitors wishing to bike to the Medical Center should review the map below to locate the closest rack. See next section for additional parking options availible to employees.
Additional Parking Options and Benefits for Employees
In addition to the many bike racks available across campus, Parking and Transportation Services provides locked bike cages to secure your bike. Locations include Parking Structure 2, Parking Structure 3, Education Building and the Broadway Building. Employees may obtain a key to one of the cages at the Parking & Transportation Services office for a small refundable deposit.
For employees wishing to bike to work, showers and lockers are available in some buildings. Check with your supervisor or the Green Commuter program coordinator to learn about available amenities.
Employees commuting to work by bicycle are eligible to participate in the Green Commuter program. Bicyclists participating in the Green Commuter program will receive 1 Ride Share Permit per year, valid for 24 days of courtesy parking in any "B" parking space at UC Davis Medical Center. These permits are for days when a bicyclist needs to drive to the Medical Center. If additional permits are needed throughout the year, Green Commuter members may purchase up to 24 Clean Air Commuter Permits per fiscal year for $3.50 each.
