Permits Required
Permits are required in all areas of medical center. Display the permit in the lower left-hand corner of the window shield. If a sun shield is used, be sure the permit is visible from outside.
Park Only in the Area Specified on Your Permit
Look at your permit. Your permit will state the type of spaces in which you can park (B, C, D, C2, C3, M, etc.).
Check Signs When Entering a Lot
Each lot has one or more entrance signs that provide information on the type(s) of permit(s) which are authorized. In addition, individual spaces within the lots may be marked for a specific type of permit. These spaces are individually marked with the type of permit required and may only be used by those displaying the proper permit. Before parking your car, be sure you are in the correct area.
Parking Enforced 24 Hours
Unless marked otherwise, all parking areas at the medical center, including off-site and leased facilities, are reserved for permit-only parking for staff, students, vendors, or E-vehicles. To use these areas, vehicles must display a valid permit and/or license plate. All permits must be authorized and issued by Parking Services. In lots 14, 18 and 25, one-day permits can be purchased from a dispensing machine.
Park Within Marked Stalls
Parking stalls are indicated by a line or markings on both sides of the stall. Areas without such markings are not legal parking spaces. Please make sure you are parked completely within the stall lines (no wheels on or over the lines). Vehicles not parked completely within the designated stall may receive a parking citation.
Parking Meters
Meters must be fed during the hours 6:30 a.m. - 11:59 p.m., 7 days a week. Employees may park in metered stalls between the hours of 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. and on university holidays when displaying a valid "B" or "D" permit.
All medical center parking meters have maximum time limits. Each meter is accompanied by a sign stating the maximum time that meter will allow. No grace period is given for meter violations and all vehicles parked in an expired meter stall may receive a parking citation.
Holidays
Valid parking permits are required on all vehicles parked at the medical center, including holidays.
Disabled Parking Spaces, Crosshatched Areas, Access Ramps
California Vehicle Code regulations are enforced at all times. Parking in these spaces or areas without a valid DMV placard or a special identification license plate may result in a $445 parking citation. VEHICLES ARE CONSIDERED PARKED when stopped or left standing whether occupied or not.
Employees parking in a disabled parking space must display a valid DMV placard and a valid "B" or "D" permit.
Permits Must Be Properly Displayed
To be valid, permits must be displayed in the lower-left corner (driver's side) of the windshield and must be fully visible. Motorcycle permits must be visibly displayed on the front left fork of the motorcycle.
Altered, Stolen, or Counterfeit Permits
Displaying a permit that is altered, counterfeit, or reported stolen will result in a substantial penalty and may also result in university disciplinary action and/or criminal prosecution.
