    • Led bicycle tours from Freeport, ME to Quebec City for groups of about ten students ages 12 to 16 years of age

    • Organized and coordinated programs campus-wide, including an annual benefit that raised money for the Sexual Assault Services of Southern Maine (SASSM)
  • Women to Women, Yarmouth, ME     (Summer 2006)
    Intern
    • Researched old patient charts to determine the general make-up of the patient population at Women to Women, which allowed the clinic to adjust its patient policies and marketing strategies accordingly 
    • Designed and created several easy-to-read pamphlets for patients with specific health issues, including poor nutrition, high blood pressure, and general fitness

Abstracts, Presentations, & Posters

  • University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA     (Summer 2010)
    • Co-first authored a paper entitled “Current Trends and Short-term Outcomes of Live Donor Nephrectomy: A Population-based Analysis of the Nationwide Inpatient Sample,” published in the World Journal of Surgery in December 2010 (Vol 34, No. 12). 
    • Primary role was in the interpretation of results, review of the relevant literature, and writing of the paper itself
  • Boston Biomedical Research Institute, Watertown, MA     (Summer 2005)
    • Conducted research into the signal transduction of smooth muscle.  Worked independently to generate data and analyze results using computerized statistical analysis
    • Appeared as an author on a paper published in the 2008 Jan-Feb issue of the Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine,
            titled “CaMKII T287 and T305 regulate history-dependent increases in alpha agonist-induced vascular tone”
