Clinical/Research Interests

Kim's research is focused on the health outcomes and health economics of chronic conditions, particularly diabetes and arthritis. She is currently investigating the changes in Medicare Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) system for primary and revision hip and knee replacements and their implications on hospital reimbursement. One of Kim's responsibilities is the development of an orthopaedic patient registry. The orthopaedic registry will follow patients from the date of implantation to monitor safety and quality of care.Kim has experience and expertise in probabilistic survey sampling, epidemiologic methods, clinical trials and health-outcomes studies.
