The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is committed to serving the Sacramento area
A subset of our faculty offer clinical care at Shriner's Hospital, Mercy San Juan, and Mercy General. Our sports medicine physicians provide care for the UC Davis college teams and Sacramento's pro basketball teams; our residents on the sports medicine rotations assist at local football games. Our physicians are engaged in service at the Employee Health Clinic on the Sacramento campus and the UC Davis Campus Health location. Our scope of outreach extends outside of the downtown Sacramento sites, as we have a presence in the Primary Care Network sites in Folsom, Roseville and Placer Center for Health. Providing care at the PCN sites enables patients who live outside the heart of Sacramento a more convenient location for office visits. Our physicians are also participants in the UC Davis Telemedicine Program. This enables the clinicians to offer medical consults to those in rural or prison populations that may not easily access our Sacramento location.
We have a large membership of volunteer clinical faculty whose primary objective is to enhance the educational experience of our residents. Retired physicians and those in private practice can offer their expertise by operating orthopaedic clinics, covering call or facilitating journal club. If you are interesting in learning more about our volunteer clinical faculty program, please contact Nancy Greilich via email at Nancy.Greilich@ucdmc.ucdavis.edu or by phone at 916.734.5885.
We are eternally grateful for the patients, alumni and friends whose financial contributions are utilized to enhance our research and teaching missions. If you are interested in supporting the fiscal viability of the Department of Orthopaedics, please contact us.
