Special Study Modules
- Promote integration of basic or applied sciences and clinical medicine at an advanced level.
- Provide opportunities to practice and refine fundamental skills in critical appraisal and analysis of emerging scientific developments in order to build a foundation for life-long learning and scholarship.
- Focus in-depth on a multidisciplinary topic or domain of special interest to the student.
- Provide learning experiences, expertise and resources to help students
- Appreciate the ways in which multidisciplinary teams of scientists and clinicians collaborate in the pursuit of new knowledge through research.
- Understand the processes through which research is translated into technologies and practices to improve medical care to individual patients and communities.
- Develop knowledge and expertise that may serve as the basis for more in-depth study or scholarly investigation during residency and beyond.
