Melissa Matulich, M.D.
Second Year Fellow

Dr. Matulich received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in biology and chemistry, where she also played Division I soccer for all four years. She then lived abroad, volunteering for a non-profit HIV/AIDS organization in Lusaka, Zambia. This experience solidified her decision to pursue her medical degree. She attended medical school at UC Davis, then completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Chicago. She received multiple teaching awards while in residency and served as the chief of the Northwestern resident ambulatory clinic. She is happy to be back at UC Davis as a Family Planning fellow and enjoys the many things Sacramento has to offer, including nearby hiking trails, wine tasting, breweries and the farm to table restaurant scene. Her current fellowship research project involves the use of telemedicine to expand important family planning services. She is also completing her Masters in Advanced Clinical Sciences through UC Davis.
