Dr. Clara Paik maintains an active gynecology practice including running the Chronic Pelvic Pain Clinic located in the Lawrence J. Ellison Ambulatory Care Center on the UC Davis Medical Center campus.  She is currently the Vice-Chair of Clinical Affairs and Chief of the Division of Gynecology.  As Clinic Medical Director, Dr. Paik is engaged in ongoing efforts to ensure high patient satisfaction and excellent, high quality clinical care delivered in the ambulatory setting.  As Co-Division Director of the University Women’s Health group, Dr. Paik, along with Dr. Debra Wright, leads a group of General Obstetric & Gynecologic faculty who have expertise in a wide variety of fields pertinent to women’s health, including: Minimally Invasive Surgery; Fibroids; Obstetric Care; and Gynecologic health maintenance.  Dr. Paik is also the Associate Residency Program Director and is actively involved in the education and training of residents in the UC Davis Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program.

Dr. Waetjen is a general gynecologist who has a special clinical interest in caring for women with menopausal symptoms, vulvar/vaginal symptoms, fibroids, and vulvar/cervix dysplasia.  In addition to seeing patients, she is an investigator with Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation, conducting research on menopause and gynecological conditions that affect mid-life and older women, and with the University of California Fibroid Network, studying the outcomes of new and standard treatment options for fibroids.

Dr. Waetjen also dedicates time to caring for underserved women. She sees patients regularly at the Sacramento County Jail and has experience in international women’s health, traveling with medical teams to Uganda, Niger, Jamaica, and Tanzania.
